Royal Hats The use of real fur in royal millinery is a controversial one and, for good reason, the practice has been widely dropped. With this ethical awareness guiding us today, it’s still fun to look back to a different time in fashion… a time that seems ruled by luxe glamour. This undated photo of then Princess Paola of Belgium in a fur (or faux fur?) turban with matching cuffs on the sleeves of her suit seems like a quintessential example of early 1960s high end style.
