Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh toured the new facility of Rambert, Britain’s national dance company. To meet architects of the building and watch a performance of the resident dancers, The Queen repeated her peony pink straw hat with teardrop shaped crown and feather trim. I think this is the most successful of Angela Kelly’s teardrop shaped hats and the feathers add a whimsically light touch. While the colour is not to my personal liking, it is vibrant and lovely on Her Majesty. What do you think of this pink ensemble?

I was going to ask if anyone could find the other hat that went with this coat. I like both, perhaps the rolled brim a little more. Slightly puzzled why there are two hats to swap out, but Queen’s prerogative I guess!
Love this hat, but I don’t care for the coat at all.
There’s quite a lot going on with this hat – the shaped crown, the binding round it, the feathers – but I think it works here because of the single colour, and the fact that the feathers are rather delicate. This candy pink is certainly one of the best colours for making the Queen stand out in a crowd!

I like the brim of today’s hat. Since this hat was worn for years before the other was created, and now is worn again, I suppose its selection today has to do with the weather rather than with its style.

I read once that in the instructions the Queen’s office sends out prior to a visit, was included the warning not to give gifts that are magenta in color, as the Queen does not wear that shade. This outfit is not magenta, but it’s getting close, and I agree with Maryanne that the Queen does look good in all shades of pink. I don’t know about the hat. The crown seems to come up higher than usual in the back, and lower in the front. That combined with the shape of the brim give it a rather Peter Pan or Robin Hood feel to me, especially in the last photo.
The Queen always looks beautiful in bright pink. This hat is a little bit different but it does not look silly. Just the right balance and very creative.
Pink is my favorite color, so I absolutely love this look. Quite vibrant and beautiful clear pink (though looks more magenta in that one photo because of the lighting). I agree that this is one of Angela Kelly’s better efforts with this hat shape–the brim is much shorter and has more curve to allow for movement of the eye, so it doesn’t look odd, and I think it works better in one color as opposed to the multi-color attempts.
