Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik of Denmark cruised on to Nykøbing today, where they again came ashore for a visit. Margrethe swapped out the band around the crown of her trusty straw hat for one in red and navy plaid to match her skirt. This really is the perfect hat for a summer sail and I can’t find fault in her wearing it so often during this cruise. What is interesting to see is how much Margrethe mixes and matches her wardrobe- we saw this hat on Monday this week and the red blazer on Tuesday. I often think of royals as having limitless fashion and millinery possibilities on any given day but this shows us that when it comes to vacation wardrobes, this Danish queen probably packs just like the rest of us.

Royal Hats 
I must say I thought it was the same hat until I had a good look – now I don’t think it can be? But surely she would not pack two straw hats – so perhaps it IS the same one!……..
I have also waffled back and forth if this was the same hat or not. I’m quite sure it is- take a peek at this post for a closer look.

What a very good idea to just change the band around the hat…….I am going to be doing that with my straw hat now. Thank you Hat Queen for showing me that…..and I like the red best on her, somehow the red makes her shine or seem brighter, it is just a prettier color for her. I don’t like dark colors on her, at all.
