Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a memorial service yesterday at the Vor Frue Kirke in Copenhagen in connection with national commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Denmark. Princess Mary repeated her black wool calot hat for the event, pairing it with a black floral dress and tailored coat. The hat added a polished finish to Mary’s elegant ensemble.

Royal Hats 
I like this Princess very much and she always looks well coordinated with her hat and clothes. The hat does look like it is about to fall off. I don’t get the idea of placing a hat so far back on the head. It would look much better sitting more forward..
I don’t really like the shape of this hat (it looks like a pillbox that got punched) but it is perfect with this dress and coat. I didn’t know about Princess Mary before I started reading Royal Hats and she always looks very elegant.
I love Crown Princess Mary’s hat and outfit, but I think the hat placement is too far back, and she is channelling Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Her jewels are stunning.

In picture 4 does the hat have a dent in it? Otherwise, CP Mary does look great and I think her dress is fabulous! The hat definitely complements and completed her outfit! I love hats!!

She’s wearing this hat as far back as Mette-Marit does – it defies gravity yhat it’s even staying on! She looks very appropriate and elegant here though.

Very pretty and versatile hat. I like hairstyle variation, but think I prefer this particular hat with the updos worn previously.
