To open our conversation this week, here is a sweet photo of Princess Alexandra of Hanover and her grandfather, the late Prince Rainier of Monaco, taken thirteen years ago today. I adore the interaction between these two and hope your interactions here, as you chat about royal and royal hat news this week, are just as enjoyable. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue their visit to India and Bhutan this week and keep your eyes open on Wednesday for hats in Denmark as the Danish royals host Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and first lady Angelica Rivera on a state visit.

More nice dresses Kate wears in India. Flowers bright and nice for her wearing.

Here are the photos from Denmark today. The princesses wore very plain hats and Queen Margarethe again wears the blue hat with feathers.

Thanks for sharing this, Elge! I think all 3 hats might be repeats but will double check next week. Thanks also, Carmena, for sharing Kate’s fashion in India. She has chosen some things that are a complete departure for her which is nice to see. Hopefully, we’ll see her in a hat or two!
I had another chance to briefly pop online, dearest readers, and saw that the Dutch monarchs were in Germany today. Queen Maxima repeated the bright pink slice brim picture hat she wore for Kings Day last year, if I remember correctly.

I saw Patrick van Katwijk’s Snapchat earlier and was so happy Máxima has broken her neutral streak with this fabulous hat! There was even a great shot of her pretending to drive a sports car in this outfit, which was so awesome!
As for the Danes, Benedikte wins overall for her fantastic ensemble (despite all the beige), but Margarethe wins for brightening up the event in this great shade of blue! Mary and Marie were elegant, but a bit boring with the lack of color and creativity in their ensembles. I love the jungle green dress on Angélica Rivera, but surprised she did not wear a hat, especially since she wore a fantastic one to the U.K. last year.
Love this hat and this color and this dress! Though some may think it too matchy matchy I think the lightness of the straw hat versus the shiny material of the dress help offset this. And the shoes are perfect and break up the all one color ensemble.

I have been enjoying the India tour with William and Kate. Kate has been full of surprises in the fashion department which I am thoroughly enjoying. I also am delighted at the worthy causes they are highlighting.

Another great look at the races for Zara! Looks great with or without the coat!
Thanks for posting these, Maja. Zara is starting to rival her grandmother as the most prolific Royal hat wearer. Does she ever repeat? It seems she is always in something new.
like this one, thanks for those photo’s
Fab hat! It looks great with Zara’s red coat.
Thank you very much for this post, maja says: April 11, 2016 at 3:45 pm. This hat is so beautiful and its unusual teardrop shape really suite Zara. I like her outfit too.
Silly Granpas are the best, this is the kind of fun and games my dear husband enjoys with our grandkids its so sweet!

Thank you for the photograph, Carmena says: April 11, 2016 at 1:15 pm. I think this is one of the Princess’s best hats, and I think she looks great in the orange and cream combination.
Hello dearest readers- I am online just for a few minutes to check in. I don’t think Kate has worn any hats in India yet, has she?
Did any of you see Princess Benedikte’s repeated grey straw turban yesterday? We haven’t discussed it here on the blog – I think it is meant to feel like a pillbox but I am afraid there’s too much hair coverage.

Miss you all but I will be back next week.
No hat yet for Kate but she looking very glamorous.

Benedikte’s hat reminds me of the beret Mary favored a few years ago, although looks like to be sitting at a very odd angle on her head. Reserving full judgment for a better photo.
HatQueen, you are TOO good to us, posting these charming photos and even checking in. Agreed about Princess Benedikte’s turban — not a good look for this lovely woman.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
It is good to hear from you HatQueen, and I hope that you are having a fantastic, and well-deserved, holiday. Thank you for the link to Princess Benedikte’s new grey straw turban. I do not think this colour is flattering to her. It is hard to judge it’s shape based on one photograph, but I don’t think it is flattering to her. I was saddened about the Duchess of Cambridge not wearing any hats in sunny India.
When you scroll down, the first thing you see is Caroline and how like her mother she looks. Cute picture!
Gorgeous photo, never seen it before. It’s just lovely and the look on Caroline’s face is fab. Thank you.
