Princess Michael of Kent attended Royal Ascot today and repeated her large white picture hat with ostrich feather trim.

Fiona: Have we seen this hat before? – just too many billowing feathers draping down the back of the hat. If this was a simple white fedora (which the hate shape is not unlike) I think it would improve the whole outfit. I do like, her coat and matching dress and the silk neck scarf is beautiful, but I am not terribly in love with the whole look. I think a less trimmed ivory hat would have worked better.
Royal Hats: Yes, this hat makes the rounds. Most recently, last Friday and it also made an appearance at Ascot last year. And yes, it’s a LOT of look. That’s pretty normal for Princess Michael.
Christie: I having flash backs to the swan moment from last year with this look. Again, I just can’t stomach fluff.. so this look really isn’t for me.
Jill: I am not thrilled with the pairing of this hat with this trench, or this trench in general for the occasion. It looks as though this is a felt hat which is an unusual choice for this time of year and the heavy ostrich feather trim reads very pirate to me.

It seems we don’t have much to say about this hat… I wonder if removing the boa trailing down the back would be an improvement?
Royal Hats 
The only thing good about this ensemble is that the color matches Prince Michael’s waistcoat.
Not liking the trench here and much better in Jake’s picture and that hat looks fab too. Love the Prince’s waistcoat and what a tie!
The colours work, the hat is fun, the outfit is interesting and I like it.
I hereby declare a moratorium on black and white hats for Marie-Christine and require her to wear some color. Seriously, does she not have more hats than the 4 she continues to rotate through?? I agree this hat and trench feel awkward together; maybe if she had brought back the hat she wore with this trench at the 2007 Trooping of the Colour, then we might all be singing her praises instead.

I love that she’s never boring. Some of the higher up Brit royals are BORING.
I don’t mind this hat at all – the trailing feather is a fun touch. Camilla could carry this hat, no trouble at all. But the trench coat is killing the look. Princess Michael needs to wear VERY sleek unfussy tailored coat dress ensembles, just like Camilla wears, and a smaller bag, to give this hat room to breathe and move.
I agree! I do love this hat (because of the large feather), so I am always glad to see it.
