The Danish monarchy released four new portraits of Prince Christian to mark his 15th birthday
King Philippe welcomed his sister, Princess Delphine, for a meeting at Laeken Castle. Their joint statement not only recognizes Delphine’s title, but feels like the start of something good. Her interview on 60 Minutes Australia, taped before this meeting, is edited toward the sensational in my opinion, but still worth a watch.
Lovely to see the Spanish royal family this week at events for the Princess of Asturias awards and Spanish National Day

  1. Princesses Nobuko, Hisako and Tsuguko also attended the funeral of former Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone.

  2. Happy Birthday Prince Christian! I always thought he favored Prince Frederick looks-wise, but the photo of him smiling is all CP Mary.

Lovely to see King Philippe and Princess Delphine starting to formulate a relationship. It can’t be easy and I wish them all the best.

Lovely to see the Spanish RF showing a united front. So nice to see Queen Sofia there as well. The Infantas are very stylish dressers, and I hope they add hats to their beautiful outfits some day.

    – I saw the Jolana Kotabova burgundy trilby and couldn’t help but be reminded of the Duchess of Cambridge’s burgundy felt trilby with back bow she wore to Christmas 2011. You know the one we always want her to rewear because it’s so fabulous! Ms Kotabova’s is an updated version.
    – I love the Catherine Kelly pale yellow straw hat with windowpane brim. I could see Lady Frederick Windsor (Sophie) in this.
Fun fact after I was typing this (while watching The Chronicles of Narnia ) Sophie Winkleman popped up as “older Susan” right at the end! So this choice of hat for her was solidified. 🙂
    – The turquoise straw teardrop percher with veil and stunning feathers by Jill Humphries would look great on Zara Tindall.
    – I can see noone but Princess Haya for the statement yellow oversize dome with fringed seams by Stacey Hemera Roberts
    – I really like the textured natural straw percher with oversize white leather flower by Cessiah Alice. This would be so charming on Lady Louise.
    – Princess Eugenie for the bold pyramid hat design covered in red feathers by Cynthia Jones Bryson

    • Shanon, I had the same thought about that trilby! Maybe if the Duchess doesn’t want to wear the 2011, she’ll pick up this one. And in the “reminds me of” category, isn’t the lovely Michelle Kearns halo reminiscent of the Duchess of Cornwall’s wedding headpiece?

As always, your selections are perfect!

      • mittenmary, you are spot on with Michelle Kearns’ hat! It did remind me of the Duchess of Cornwall’s wedding headpiece, but I forgot to mention that. I knew you would though!
