Queen Máxima repeated a tan linen halo bandeau headpiece on Thursday
King Carl Gustaf and Princess Christina attended the opening of an exhibition on their grandmother, Crown Princess Margareta, along with Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria. There are some fantastic historical photos in the exhibition that include hats.

  1. – I love the magenta bandeau by Australian milliner Wendy Diggles for Lady Louise. Such a pretty color!
    – I think the woven tutti fruitti straw boater by Scottish brand Scotch Bonnet Millinery would look lovely on Princess Alexandra of Kent. The colors are fabulous.
    – Mike Tindall and Prince Carl-Philip for the moss green Panama straw fedora with black hatband by British brand Arts On Hats
    – Love the burst of color on the yellow hysteresis loop shaped disc with feather starburst by British milliner Viv Jenner. I would love to see this on Zara Tindall.
    – Such a sleek look on the layered statement bandeau in black and natural straw with abstract rose by Australian milliner Louise Macdonald. I would love to see this on Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie at Ascot.
    – Queen Mathilde would look great in the wonderful blush surprise beneath the extended brim on this cloche by Australian milliner Cynthia Jones Bryson
    – The Countess of Wessex would look great in the incredible statement brim, beautifully shown off with silk binding by Dutch milliner Marianne Jongkind for Royal Ascot.

    • I agree with you on all these picks except the yellow hysteresis loop shaped disc with feather starburst by British milliner Viv Jenner. I think that would look better on a brunette–say Princess Mary or the Duchess of Cambridge.

    • I admired the multi-colored boater, too, and you are quite right that Princess Alexandra would wear it beautifully.
