Royal Hats 87 years back to this day in 1935 when Queen Astrid of Belgium visited a new medical clinic in Brussels an a most interesting brimless hat that curved around her face.

  1. That must have been a wonderfully miraculous medical clinic in its day, since Queen Astrid was already dead 6 months. She died August 29, 1935. Getty even has a photo of her lying in state, but I chose not to include it here. Thanks for the late night chuckle, HQ – just change the date from 1936 to 1935.

    • Picky, picky, Jimbo! Who says dead women can’t wear hats?

This is a great ’30s look for one of the lesser-seen queens, and the nurses’ headgear could be a post in itself.
