This is such a standout hat. The texture and movement of the feathers is amazing, and the cut of the coat is so flattering. I wonder what colour it was, in my mind it’s a beautiful dark green…
The queen wore this hat and coat at least twice before her trip to Guernsey; June 7, 1957 to Epsom, and June 27th to Guildford.
Today’s Hat #57 (and Camilla’s wedding piece) always remind me of men with bad comb-overs. Years ago, a man at our swim club would dive in, and upon surfacing, the left side of his bald head would be short and trimmed, and on the right side, he had hair all the way down to his shoulder. Makes you wonder if he knew or cared.

Love seeing this different styling of hat on HM. I’m also reminded of some of Camilla’s hats with this one, primarily her wedding blessing headpiece and her oversized beret with feathers from Remembrance Day 2019:

Like it. Wonder what colour it was.
This is a style I’d associate more with Princess Margaret, but HM wore it beautifully. The sideswept option of the feathers is lovely.
This is another delightful hat on Queen Elizabeth. The style of the feather trim seems quite unusual but overall it’s a very elegant look.
