It’s Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot! We start coverage of today’s royal hats at the races with the Countess of Wessex who wore a blush sinamay statement waved saucer trimmed with ombre dyed pleated crin.

There’s a lovely airiness to the design and such wonderful movement from the shape. My only quibble is wondering of the crin binding might have worked better around the full perimeter of the hat instead of just around the top as an anchor for the pleated trim?

Royal Hats 
Love the hat. I dislike the dress (intensely) – the dress is wearing her rather than the other way round. The print and voluminous skirt is far too large. As for the shoes I detest them with a passion – I don’t understand why anyone would choose them.
And this is what Ladies’ Day is all about! I adore this look for Sophie and there is nothing more to say except I hope we see this hat again. Brava!
Wow this is such a bold look for Sophie, she’s normally in my more muted colours, this is anything but. Calming the very bold dress down with the (mainly) neutral coloured hat makes a lot of sense. This is fabulous.
Sophie pulls it off, as she inevitably does, but this whole look is a little too much for me. Yikes.
I love how the crin pulls all the colors of her dress together. This is a really fun, bright look. She always looks great and I’m all for stepping away from the creams and champagne colors. The bold colors look fabulous on her.
Another stunning new hat for The Countess of Wessex today. I really like the shape and soft colours of the hat. A real statement for Ladies Day.
