Lovely ensemble. Things were very dressy then if you were the Queen, weren’t they? Looks as though the coat / dress is made of silk.
I would venture to say that things were very dressy then even if you weren’t the Queen. She may not have been wearing silk, but I remember my mother getting quite dressed up with a hat and gloves to go to services when I was a child.
Lovely.
Today’s “Hat From the Past” made its debut the previous year, in India. One can only imagine how breathtakingly beautiful this ensemble was, along with HM’s entire wardrobe for that historic tour.
