Thank you Hat Queen for all these lovely pictures most of which I’ve not seen before. My deepest sympathies to HM King Charles and all the members of the late Queen’s family. My thoughts are also with you during this time of mourning. May memories bring you peace.
Thank you for these pictures of Elizabeth as she grew up. It is easy to see in these pictures her lifelong love of horses and dogs. She seemed to spend quite a bit of time with Queen Mary. The pictures this week of the family in mourning have been heart wrenching. I pray the family has time to process all that has happened and changed in the weeks to come.
Dear Hat Queen, what wonderful photos, some I had not seen before. Especially interesting are the ones with King George V and Queen Mary before there was any idea that she would become Queen. She was already used to being in public at a very young age. Please give us reminders for a while of HM’s hats.
Have missed them so much the last year. I know that she has now gone home on the wings of angels.
Thank you, HQ, for all your wonderful research, including all these photos from the early days of such an extraordinary woman. Not British, I join in your sadness, as well as the rejoicing in such a remarkable role model to the world. I hope that future Royal Hats posts will not dis-clude her from the continued enjoyment her hats have brought us for 70 years.
After this week’s memorium posts, I plan to hold off featuring the queen in posts here for a period of mourning. Moving forward from then, she, like all past notable royals, will always be featured and celebrated here at Royal Hats.
