  1. Birgitte looks good in this hat and dress combo, and the colors suit her well, but she’s worn them a lot in the last year or so. I do wish she would bring some other looks back again, like that green boater and orange dress she stunned us all (or at least me haha) with some years ago.

Prince Michael has another stunner of a top hat and knows how to do old school masculine elegance oh so well.

Marie-Christine, however, just doesn’t have killer looks like she used to. This pillbox is nice enough, but the color just washes her out, and it’s so reminiscent of virtually anything she’s worn at big royal engagement in mostly the past 5 years.

  2. I love this hat on the Duchess of Gloucester. A beautiful colour and shape for her. And paired so well with a soft grey dress. Lovely.
Princess Michael suits a simple pillbox style hat very well. This one is very chic. I like the one colour look.
Prince Michael looks so elegant. A beautiful top hat with an eye-catching mix of morning coat, waistcoat, tie and shirt. King Edward VII inspired perhaps.

  3. One of Princess Mike’s best looks recently. She often overdoes the scarves and dangly things these days, but this is nice.
Do you know who the floral lady on Prince Mike’s other arm is? Her hat suits her outfit well, but the balance seems a bit off with the position of the flowers and feathers.

  4. I hadn’t thought about it before, but this is really rather a versatile hat for the Duchess of Gloucester; big enough to look suitable for a grand formal occasion at a church service, say, but light enough to look summery and fun for something like Ascot. For someone who doesn’t have that many hats in her wardrobe, it was a very smart choice.

I’m a bit disappointed with Princess Michael’s pillbox; it’s very chic and simple, but not very exciting, and Princess Michael has often worn rather eye-catching hats in the past. Maybe she too is buying with an eye to the future and thinking that she’ll be able to wear this to a variety of functions.

  5. I like how many of the ladies are dressing in a simplistic manner. Not too bold or over the top.
I wonder if it is in respect and memory of Queen Elizabeth. Grant you I have not seen all of the ladies outfits.
The blue of the Duchess of Gloucester’s hat matches her eyes. So nice.
