The Prince of Wales attended the Graduation Ceremony of the Queen’s Squadron as the Reviewing Officer at RAFC Cranwell on Thursday in his role of Marshal of The Royal Air Force.

Two housekeeping items- The Index of Royal Milliners has been reorganized by country (the country each milliner currently works from). The Retrospectives page has been updated with all of our recent Ascot posts- I suspect Queen Mathilde will debut a new hat on Tuesday for Belgian National Day and some of you might want to look back at all of her past National Day looks in anticipation of this.

Two new photos of wee Prince Charles and his doting parents released by the Cour grand-ducale Luxembourg
Arthur Chatto is part of a 4-man rookie rowing team attempting to row non-stop unsupported around the UK (breaking 4 world records in the process) to raise money and awareness for JustOneOcean and the Red Cross. Off to a rough start, they seem to be back on track- read more info and track their progress here or at Arthur’s instagram page.
Queen Elizabeth enjoyed a lively Zoom conversation with those serving in the armed forces, including Able Rate Sophie Levy on RFA Argus and Lance Corporal Shanwayne Stephens.
Lovely, relaxed photos of the Princess Royal, taken for her 70th birthday
The Dutch royal family welcomed photographers to Palace Huis ten Bosch yesterday for their annual summer photocall; Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit did the same with their family while at their summer vacation home on the island of Dvergsoya near Kristiansand.

An exhibition of Princess Benedikte’s dresses created by Danish designer Jørgen Bender from 1968 to 1999 opened at the Amalienborg Museum last weekend. The collection includes 21 items including Princess Benedikte’s wedding dress and a day dress (I think the one she wore to the Greek royal wedding in 1995) with matching hat. You can see the collection at the link below.

Princess Beatrice’s wedding plans were not the only ones derailed by then pandemic- Princess Raiyah of Jordan (youngest child of the late King Hussein and Queen Noor) was scheduled to marry British journalist Ned Donovan in Jordan in April. The couple was quietly married in the UK this week with a celebration planned in Jordan when public health safety allows.

No surprise, there were no royal hats this week. However, numerous new millinery designs caught my eye:

Palest ice blue straw button percher with embroidered, sequinned tulle overlay and bow by British milliner Lucy Bowler

Taupe and ecru ombre straw cloche with the most exquisite, effortless swirling movement on the extended brim

The Belgian royal family ventured out last Sunday for another day trip, this time to the Adrennes and joined by King Albert and Queen Paola
News from Bhutan’s royal family that the new little prince has been named Ugyen
A trio of lovely portraits released for Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s 9th anniversary

We end this week with a classic British children’s book, read by Princess Anne.

Interesting review, in English, of the first year of the Heiwa era. The pace is a little slow but the look into the Imperial ceremonies is detailed and fascinating.

On Wednesday, Queen Margrethe wore her apricot straw hat with navy hatband to open the recreation of an early Viking era 61 meter long great hall/building for a king or chieftain
On Thursday, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall received French President Emmanuel Macron for a visit to commemorating the 80th anniversary of General de Gaulle’s ‘Appel’ speech which sparked the start of French Resistance. For this visit, Camilla repeated her ivory straw sidesweeping picture hat with navy straw crown cuff and ivory silk knotted bow.
