We have seen Queen Máxima step out twice so far in a pleated fabric (likely silk crepe) Fabienne Delvigne turban. to Easter Sunday April 9, 1939 enjoyed in San Francisco by Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark, as were their titles at the time. I find it fascinating how Princess Ingrid’s hat is so similar to the ‘slice’ brims we often see now and how the unfinished, rough edge makes it feel modern enough to be easily worn today.
