We have nearly come to the end of our review of all the hats, headpieces and feathery puffs we saw grace royal heads in 2014. Numbers 7, 14, and 16 make my list.
At my place we all rather like the hat in Photo 1 for its retro look. The next best is photo 16, for its colour and dramatic look. Princess Marie-Chantal’s hat Photo 14 is large and suits her face. There is nothing all that good among the rest but nothing to hate.
Lady Brabourne #16 and Marie-Chantal #14 are the clear winners here. Too bad we don’t see them more often.
My favorite of this bunch is Baroness Brabourne’s hat at 16. Next favorite is Princess Marie-Chantal’s hat at 14. Next is the Duchess of Castro in the black calot trimmed with a silk ruffle at 10, that she wore to Queen Fabiola’s funeral. The other hats are alright except for the worst hat, Archduchess Anna-Gabriele at 5, whose little flower looked a bit like a bath pouff.
