Here are all of the royal women’s hats we saw at Royal Ascot 2018. Click on each photograph to link to feature posts and animated discussion on each hat!
A final THANK YOU (some things should be shouted) to you, dear HatQueen, for your stellar efforts this week! You must have been at it 24/7 (or 24/4 at any rate) to keep up with all of this. I loved it all!
Thank you for this! So much easier for choosing favorites without overlooking someone. I think Bea and Haya are the best of the best for me Day 1, although nearly all are excellent choices. Not a fan of Princess Michael’s, I’m afraid, but I imagine she will redeem herself as the week goes on.
What a great way to summarize each day’s designs for easy viewing, and HatQueen, we can’t thank you enough for the superb job you are doing collecting photos and organizing this wonderful vicarious experience for us!
The Queen – Love her in yellow! It’s so cheery.
Duchess of Cornwall – It’s her signature shape and looks amazing on her.
Duchess of Sussex – I like this hat, but I wished it was angled more. It looks…smushed? in some of the pictures.
York Sisters – Agreed, they have become more elegant, but still manage to show off personality. I really love Eugenie’s entire look.
Countess of Wessex – I am not sure about this one. It looks heavier than straw and the crin is too sharp in the tulle ruffles.
Princess Royal – I really like this hat and Anne looks great in this design.
Princess Michael – This hat reminds me of the flying nun. One big gust and off she goes.
Princess Haya – I love her statement pieces. I’m just not sure I’m all in for a ginormous rose. Like, 80% in.
Sheikha Al Jalila – It’s a cute little piece and I would really love a scenario where her and Lady Louise would get to hang out.
Not royal – I love Edite Ligere. That hat was amazing!
Just to say how much I’ve enjoyed the coverage you’ve provided, HatQueen, and to thank you for what must be an enormous amount of input each day.
