King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima concluded their state visit to Germany today with visits to the Technical University of Berlin, conservation area Landschaftspark Herzberge, Herzberge Landscape Park and Humboldt Forum museum.
For these events, Queen Máxima repeated her warm brown straw picture hat with high upswept slice brim. The hat is simply trimmed with a Petersham ribbon hatband tied in a loose bow at the side.

Máxima wears warm tones so well and this hat’s shape, one we associate closely with her, makes a great statement. The pairing of structured hat with today’s floaty dress is a little unexpected but it really works.

This has absolutely nothing today with today’s article about the Dutch State Visit to Germany, but I didn’t find a place to post a random query. My question – what do you call someone who loves hats. I found millinophilia as love of hats. So what are we? Millinophiliaists?
Kisa, how about “kapelophile” or “capellophile?” The following short article is interesting, dealing with collecting hats also.

Her standby style. I really liked the one with the flowers..yesterday..her wide hat but with a twist.
The colours of this dress are soft and lovely…
This is definitely my favorite look of this state visit with everything (hat, colors, details, textures, etc.) all coming together so well. Another winning outfit paired with this hat (which I think has always had successful outfits on every outing).
Interestingly the brim is so much more upturned this time compared to usual that I thought it was this hat at first: https://royalhats.net/2014/08/18/one-hat-three-dresses/. At any rate, I’m grateful for a successful hatted state visit and hope such a trend continues (I wonder if/when the Japanese state visit to the UK will be rescheduled).
Maxima is always lovely! And she always looks great in her hats – this is one of my favorites on her!
