Queen Elizabeth visited Paddington Station yesterday, her visit marking the completion of London’s multi-year Crossrail project and the opening of the ‘Elizabeth Line’ rail service next week. For this event, she repeated her yellow hat with domed crown and gently upswept brim, trimmed with yellow straw bow loops, blue silk flowers and brown silk leaves.
It’s a happy, beautifully trimmed, shaped and balanced hat that’s lovely to see again.

Can you believe we’ve not seen this hat in nearly five years?!

Simply beautiful, love the hat.
An absolutely delightful surprise to see HM open her namesake line yesterday! I loved seeing this hat make a reappearance as it’s been a long-time favorite; previously I was sad about the brim being cut down a bit after its premiere, but after 5 years it now seems to frame HM’s face perfectly. I prefer this coat to the original, but we still haven’t gotten a brooch with a sapphire in it to go with this hat; c’est la vie haha.
The walking stick is quite beautiful, and at 96 it’s no surprise if she needs it regularly now; her own mother was often using two at the same age. More power to HM in normalizing the use of mobility devices at any age.
So lovely to see HM out and about, and in this beautiful sunny hat. The shape and size are excellent. The coat change is an improvement too. The latest outfits seem to be a slightly better fit on HM as she did appear to lose a bit of weight over the last year.
And always that radiant smile!
Thank you to ChicagoChuck for helping answer ponderings about HM’s stick. Love it!
Still love this hat, doesn’t it feel like a rare treat that’s she’s hatting about, we know it’ll be rare. She looks so well, this outfit is a welcome return. Interesting that she switched the coat up, that doesn’t happen a lot, but it’s still a perfect match.
Yes, it was lovely to see Queen Elizabeth able to attend the opening ceremony for the Elizabeth line.
I remember this sunshine yellow hat very well. It’s a pretty shape as well as colour and along with the coat and beautiful brooch it’s an excellent choice for this occasion.
I was so happy to see HM out and about yesterday, I wouldn’t have cared if she had worn a ball cap! I can only imagine what all you people in Britain and Canada are feeling, and right before the Jubilee! Oh, to be 96, and looking so radiant!
For this outing, she switched to another coat – interesting.

Love everything about this hat.
Gentle brim, not to deep a crown, let’s us see her smiling face. Love the color and the simple style of the coat. So good to see Her Majesty out again in one of her elegant ensembles.
Not a fan of this hat (see my comments on her June 14, 2016 outing with this hat – ha!). I do love, love, love that she uses a refined version of a Scottish stalking stick rather than a cane. God love her!
