Last Sunday, Her Majesty Margaretha, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, attended a Thanksgiving service dedicated to Romania at the Queen’s Chapel of Savoy in London. Margaretha wore an ecru straw button based percher trimmed with purple and cream feathers and a cream veil. Back on December 5, Margaretha and her sisters marked a year anniversary of their late father’s passing.

Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria wore brimmed hats last Sunday to the funeral of Count Oscar Bernadotte; Princess Sofia wore a black hair bow and snood. You can see the hat and headpiece worn by Dagmar Von Arbin (née Countess Bernadotte of Wisborg) and Countess Marianne Bernadotte here. 
Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Laurence were in Chile last weekend to take part in a number of events to mark the Bicentenary of the Chilean Navy.
A preview of the Swedish royal annual documentary shows the Crown Princess and her family enjoying summer in several casual hats.
On Wednesday, Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Sharoushi Act in Tokyo. The Empress repeated a small grey rimmed saucer hat with layered silk bow.

Princess Masako celebrated her 55th birthday today with a visit to the Imperial Royal Palace. She wore a repeated robin’s egg blue rounded pillbox for the visit.

A new portrait of Queen Elizabeth, commissioned by the RAF Regiment to celebrate its 75th anniversary, was unveiled yesterday at Windsor Castle and it looks great.

Queen Margrethe placed four handmade Christmas characters in the attic of Fredensborg Castle to explore the treasures stored there and the past stories they tell of the Danish royal family. Each day of advent, the Danish Monarchy’s instagram page will feature part of this ongoing story– the first clip yesterday (below) shows the Queen setting the characters up for this adventure (with a bowl of Danish rice pudding to sustain them).

British milliner Stephen Jones has been sharing some of the 80 hats he’s made for Dior that are currently on exhibition in Paris, including his remake of the 1950s combination of millinery and suit silhouettes that deserve the label of ‘iconic‘. His remake of the Imperial State Crown, however, tops it all.
