The annual three-day Grand National steeplechase took place over the weekend at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool, attended by several royal spectators. On Thursday, Princess Anne repeated her burgundy velvet bucket hat with navy piping for a day out at the races.
Zara Tindall attended the races on Friday in a beret percher covered in silver metallic paper straw trimmed with a sculptural twisted bow in orange paraisal. With her emerald jacket, the hat topped a vibrantly colour blocked ensemble.

Also on Saturday, Zara Tindall wore a wide brimmed dark blue tweed covered boater with statement rose trim. Her suit and magenta blouse brilliantly picked up the colours of the hat, it’s wonderful dimensional texture making me wonder why we don’t see more royal hats covered in tweed!
