Princess Benedikte Celebrates Children’s Center

Last Thursday, January 30, Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the 60th anniversary of Benediktegården, a nursery and day care center named in her honor. Benedikte wore a tan wool hat with striking abstract pattern inlaid into the crown of the hat. While I am not partial to the colour of this hat, I love the inlaid pattern and think it is a very effective way to make a traditional hat shape look contemporary and very striking. What do you think of this hat?

  1. Oh, I’m in the minority here, but I don’t like the shape of this hat on her, nor the abstract pattern on it. Not from above where you can see the pattern properly and neither from below where you see only these funny little end bits seemingly coming from her head.
She’s always so elegant and usually I love her hat choices, but this is not my cup of tea at all…

  2. I don’t like the color of the dress, but the hat is an excellent choice. Also like its shape: it’s a good ratio of width to height.

  3. This really suits her. Normally I think beige washes people out but this doesn’t. But her best accessory is her smile 🙂

  4. Princess Benedikte is a lovely woman and has a charming smile, but I do not care for this hat. It is too round for my taste and I do not care for the colour.

  5. I don’t think the color is very flattering but aside from that this is a very nice hat. It’s nice to see an interesting hat that does not have an explosion of feathers.
