Royal Hats 
This was post-war Britain, but there can be no excuse. The hat is quite ghastly.
It looks like a pixie hat!
This hat is described as “attractive veiled Hyacinth blue hat.”

The word “attractive” must have been meant to apply to the veil or the hyacinth blue color, it’s hard to imagine it applied to the hat itself — those pointy shapes look like something out of science fiction!
That hat is very much of it’s time. I’d rather have the Faberge egg, please!
Cone bonnet. Not a good look.
