We have lots of royal events to catch up on! On the second weekend of September, celebrations were held to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark’s accession to the throne. This included a service of thanksgiving held at Copenhagen Cathedral followed by a lunch on the royal yacht Dannebrog on Sunday, September 11.
Queen Margrethe repeated a pink beret with with side twist trim. It remains a great hat for her, the vibrant colour placing her firmly in the spotlight (as she should be for the celebration of this milestone!) and the hat’s scale and placement allowing her to shine. It remains such a great hat for her.

Princess Josephine wore a white silk hair bow (and a series of very amusing expressions!).
Princess Marie repeated a black headpiece with looped black silk organdie ribbons. This piece also does well for flatteringly framing the wearer’s face. Since we’ve seen Marie wear this primarily at memorial events, I would have preferred to see her in something a little more uplifting for this celebration. .

Really late in catching up, but here I go haha . . .
Fantastic repeat on Margrethe to celebrate this milestone, which also makes her now Europe’s longest reigning monarch. The coral/watermelon pink is just wonderful and this style of hat really suits her.
As Jimbo pointed out, it was interesting to see Mary repeat a headpiece that premiered on the same day as Margrethe’s hat. Still a nice piece, even if the repeating coincidence does bother me slightly haha.
I’ve always like this fascinator for Marie, but with it being in black combined with her subdued outfit color-wise does make her whole look a bit somber for the occasion.
Queen Margrethe looked wonderful for her 50th Anniversary. The coral color was very complimentary, but I would have sprung for a new ensemble for such an important milestone event. CP Mary’s navy hat was nice, but more difficult to see, due to her dark hair. Both hats were debuted on the same day (May 15, 2021) and it was fun going back to that post for the interesting comments and two great close-up photos of each hat.
HQ, what eagle eyes you have, noticing the fascinator snatched from CP Mary’s straw hat. You are clever, indeed.
