Queen Máxima visited the Equal Opportunities Community in Den Bosch on Tuesday, a community providing equal opportunities for children and young people. For this visit, she repeated a vibrant fuchsia bandeau headpiece with embroidered bead, pearl and sequin embellishment.

The pairing of aubergine suit and fuchsia blouse and bandeau is unexpectedly brilliant and I love how the headpiece’s embellishment enables it to stand out in the overall ensemble. It’s so fun.

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Day 1

The Cheltenham Festival kicked off today with a pair of royal hats in attendance. Princess Anne repeated one of her brimless dark fur hats.

Zara Tindall wore a new hat described by the designer as a “Peachbloom felt pillbox trimmed with a silk abaca bow (which) neatly sits towards the back of the head with loops and combs to secure.”

It’s a sleek design that topped a streamlined ensemble for Zara. The trouser and hat combination is très chic.

The new Duchess of Edinburgh wore a new ivory felt pillbox hat with pork pie indented crown, trimmed with a looping black buntal bow around the back.

The sleek lines of the hat and coat work so well together as do the black bow on the hat and the black buttons on the coat. The monochrome colour scheme creates such a sophisticated look for Sophie.

The Princess Royal repeated her pale green brushed felt trilby trimmed with a grey hatband and side bow. The split crown shape gives great visual interest to this piece, although I’d love to see the wobbly brim smoothed.

On Tuesday, Princess Anne repeated a  red felt brimless hat by Amy Morris Adams to attend racing at Sandown Park.

Also on Tuesday, Princess Hisako, wore a sharp ecru beret with folded teal trim for an awards ceremony

 

On Friday, Princess Hisako wore an ivory brimmed hat with lilac feather trim for an orchid exhibition while Crown Princess Kiko repeated a black silk covered bowler for a memorial event.

Day 2 Dutch State Visit To Slovakia

For the second day of the Dutch state visit to Slovakia yesterday, Queen Máxima repeated a hat in black fur felt with a rounded crown and extended downward facing brim, raised on the left side. The design is trimmed with a black velvet padded hatband and multi looped bow.

The shape is SOOOO good – it’s amazing how a the subtle change of shape on a brim can make such a statement. The design has such beautiful balance and movement.
