Favourite Repeated Royal Hat: January & February 2020

What to say… while it’s been several months since public royal engagements ceased and with them, royal hats for us to admire, we have not chosen our favourite designs from the beginning of this year.

Favourite Repeated Royal Hat of 2019

In 2019, many lovely hats stepped out on royal heads for the second, third, (or ninth!) times. Throughout the year, you picked favouritea from these repeatedly worn designs and assembled a list of nine stunning semi-finalists for the year. It is now finally time to share your top four choices for Favourite Repeated Royal Hat of 2019:

This hat was also your pick for top repeated royal hat in 2018 (and made the top three in 2017!), making it the first design ever on Royal Hats to win two years running! Congratulations to British milliner Jane Taylor and the Countess of Wessex, whose millinery partnership is clearly a winning one, and to the other three milliners who designed these beautiful runners up. It’s a wonderful (and well deserved) surprise to see an Imperial royal hat in this year’s winner’s circle.

Poll: Favourite New Royal Hat of 2019

And then there were nine.

Nine new royal hats that made their debut in 2019 to great acclaim. In felt ribbon and straw, in saucer, beret percher, disc and helmet shapes, in colours from the soft to the saturated, these beautifully made designs are the ones we admired most this year. It’s now time for another look at these beauties, choosing one to be crowned Favourite New Royal Hat of 2019.

In 2019, we saw numerous repeated royal hats worn to royal visits, weddings, inauguration events and other celebrations. Throughout the year, we have admired many of these designs, slowly narrowing down our favourites to nine designs.

These nine beauties include bandeau, saucer, curved brim, disc and traditional picture hat shapes in colours from the most vibrant to monochrome. It’s now time to choose, from these nine finalists, your pick for Favourite Repeated Royal Hat of 2019.

Favourite New Royal Hat: November & December 2019

During November and December, we saw a number of wonderful new royal hats make their debut. Eleven felt and silk designs stood out, based on your comments, in percher, bandeau, fedora, pillbox, helmet, saucer and bumper styles with an array of lovely trims. We’re now taking a look back at these beauties and choosing a final design to move forward in upcoming contest for Favourite New Royal Hat of 2019.
